Murakami is wonderful - one of my absolute favorite authors. I have read the majority of his works (though not all yet). He's a bit like a mix between Gabriel Garcia Marques and Jorge Luis Borges (two more of my favorite authors). I can't believe he was sitting behind you... He is nearly as reclusive as J.D.Salinger (I think someone told me he lives in a basement and never ever leaves. Thats what I heard, I have no idea if tis true...) Being in the same room as Murakami would be like sasquatch and the lochness monster sitting next to you on a park bench and having a tea party, I mean the man is a GHOST.
